GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE!

designed by Jason Wu
designed by Isabel Toledo
First Lady Michelle Obama stepped out in an Isabel Toledo designed yellow/gold-embossed coat and a matching dress, green patent Jimmy Choo “Glacier” shoes with J-Crew gloves for the swearing in of her husband President Barak Obama. Later that evening she rocked a dress designed by Jason Wu….which was FIYAH!

Now the Black Artists Association is upset that the new first lady did not wear any designs by African-Americans. According to Amnau Eele, the co-founder of the BAA and former model has this to say, “It’s fine and good if you want to be all “Kumbaya” and “We Are the World” by representing all different countries. But if you are going to have Isabel Toledo do the inauguration dress, and Jason Wu do the evening gown, why not have Kevan Hall, B Micheal, Stephen Burrows or any of the other black designers do something too.?” She also added “It’s one thing to look at the world without color but she had seven slots to wear designer clothes. Why wasn’t she wearing the clothes of a black designer? That was our moment.”

President Obama team is rumored to have turned down a tuxedo designed by Sean “Diddy” Combs for and bullet proof tux, and you don’t see Puffy crying! The kids also rocked designes by Crewcuts the kid line by J.Crew. And if I recall correctly it was THEIR moment as well as our, and I don’t recall any one banging down her doors when she was buying clothes off the rack.

  1. Did the thought ever occur to them that maybe, just maybe, First Lady Obama DID NOT LIKE THE ISH YOU PUT OUT!! Man Please!! She can wear what she wants to wear, if she didn't like what you had to offer, step up your game. She looked absolutely FABULOUS in what she chose to wear. And The Girls looked adorable in their J Crew. It was still a moment to be proud of no matter what or who they had on.
